CHILDREN and staff at a village primary school are celebrating after education inspectors upgraded it from “satisfactory” to “good”.
Standards watchdog Ofsted said the 73-pupil Marsh Baldon School had “improved markedly in many areas of its work” since its last inspection in 2007.
Inspector John Earish said: “Pupils are well cared for and feel secure and happy.(They) enjoy coming to school, feel extremely safe and behave well.”
Headteacher Nick Pitson said: “We are delighted to have moved the school from ‘satisfactory’ to ‘good’.
“This could not have been achieved without a lot of hard work by the staff and children and the support of parents and governors.
“We were particularly pleased and encouraged by the positive responses by pupils and parents.”
