A WOMAN who let her dog foul the grass in a sports park has been fined £300.
Yvonne Gastin, of Newport Close, Kidlington, was found guilty of failing to clean up after her dog in Stratfield Brake sports park in August last year.
She denied the charge but was fined £100 and ordered to pay £200 court costs and a £15 victims’ surcharge at Banbury Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
Gastin claimed she was unaware it had happened and refused to pay a £50 fixed penalty notice.
Cherwell district councillor George Reynolds said: “Ignorance is no defence and we will continue to prosecute those who allow their dogs to foul then refuse to pay the penalty.”
