Summertown Cobras U9s have had their fair share of bad fortune this season, but things seems to be coming together for them with back-to-back wins. Today at Cuttleslow Park they played a solid Horspath, who had narrowly beaten them in November. The first match was swings and roundabouts. Cobras opended the score, but Horspath took the lead twice, only for Cobras to end on top, 4-3, courtesy of 4 goals by David White. In the second match, Cobras rapidly went in front, but then came a prolonged period in which Horspath pressed for another goal, with occasional counter-attacks by Cobras. A sigh of relief could be heard among the Cobras supporters when their boys scored two more goals towards the end of the match. Final score: Summertown Cobras 7 v Horspath 3. Goal scorers for Cobras: David White (4), George Gompertz (2), Alexander Jacobs (1). For Horspath: Taylor Patrick (2), Adam Darch (1).
