A 25-YEAR-OLD man who exposed himself to schoolchildren from his own home has been sentenced.

Steven King flashed and performed a sex act on two occasions, one of them on July 8 as children filed past his front window from school.

The student was convicted of two counts of exposure following a three-day trial and was sentenced at Oxford Crown Court on Friday.

Peter Coombe, prosecuting, told the court the other exposure took place on April 26. Sophie Murray, defending, said it was difficult to mitigate as her client “continues to deny the evidence”.

She said King, of Sycamore Drive, Banbury, was a “highly regarded, loving member of a very close-knit family” with glowing reports from tutors.

Miss Murray added: “These were two offences on two occasions. There’s been nothing since and nothing before.”

Judge Mary Jane Mowat gave King a 12-month conditional discharge and order he pay £500 costs. He will be on the sex offenders’ register for a year.

She said: “The second offence, and most worrying one, was through a window at the front of the house when schoolchildren were passing.

“Why such a thing happened, I couldn’t being to imagine.”
