IT was the home leg yesterday for a Kidlington runner on course to complete seven marathons in seven days.

Adam Kelly was joined by his brother, aunt and schoolfriend during his run through Oxfordshire yesterday.

The 20-year-old, set off from Cardiff on Monday, and has already crossed the Severn Bridge and run through Bristol, Chippenham and Swindon, putting him well on his way to raising £12,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Yesterday he completed the Oxford leg, running past his workplace at Opus Energy, in Banbury Road, and on to his home in Cromwell Way, Kidlington.

He sets off at 10am today to run to Silverstone, before finishing the 180-mile challenge on Sunday with laps of the famous Formula One circuit.

He said: “Yesterday was the first time my muscles started to hurt a bit, and my right knee is struggling to bend.

“But when I ran past work, everyone was outside cheering me on, and people showered me with alcohol when I got home.”
