FASHION got foxy and feminine for this year’s lingerie show at Oxford Fashion Week.

And the runway at the Malmaison Hotel in Oxford Castle was as sexy, fun and stylish as expected.

Designers included corset-maker Velda Lauder, popular brand Bravissimo and a debut exhibition from Oxfordshire designer Emelia Penny.

Show producer Rosa Schiller Crawhurst said: “Our vision for the show was to produce a glamorous and yet eclectic show where every woman who watches it feels that she could look and feel amazing in any of the clothes displayed.

“In short, our show is about confidence.

“Our designers are so wide-ranging, from eco-friendly underwear, corsetry specialists, chic daywear, daring black colours and beautiful lace French nightdresses.”

More than 100 people packed into the hotel on Wednesday to see what the designers had in store this year.

Silk Cocoon owner Dr Ying Groves said: “Oxford is, of course, seen as an academic capital of the world, but it’s great to see that people do care about fashion as well and perhaps one day it could also be seen as a fashion capital.

“I am very excited to be part of this event. As a top-quality lingerie brand in Oxford, it only seemed right that Silk Cocoon take part to represent elegant, tasteful and stylish lingerie.

“We may also be looking for models to take part in photo shoots for us in the future.”

The third Oxford Fashion Week officially ends with the couture show and closing party tomorrow.

But this year it has been extended, with the additional Oxford Style Show and Macmillan Clothes Extravaganza in Oxford Town Hall on March 19.

Andrew Creese, general manager of Malmaison Oxford, added: “It’s great to be involved once again in Oxford Fashion Week.

“The lingerie show is great fun and good for the city and I hope to see its continued success and growth in years to come.”

Executive producer of OFW, Carl Anglim, said: “The Malmaison Lingerie Show has a great track record of boosting young lingerie designers from Oxfordshire, including featuring the debut showcase of Pure Chemistry last year.”
