Police are appealing for witnesses following the attempted theft of a campervan in Oxford Road, Adderbury.

At about 12.45pm on Sunday, February 20, thieves stole a Ford Transit Campervan from Twyford Mill.

The thieves have towed the vehicle out on to the A4260 and started to drive off.

Police said at this point it appeared the tow rope snapped and they fled, leaving the stolen vehicle abandoned in the carriageway.

Det Con Ian Bailey, from the Banbury Priority Crime Team, said: “It is believed the offenders used a white van and a Transit-style tipper truck with an aluminium tipper bed and white cab to attempt the theft.

“I am appealing for witnesses to the crime to come forward and I’d really like to speak to anyone who may have seen these vehicles or has information that could help our investigations.”
