News from Iran concentrates on Britain’s own self-interest: the threat of nuclear arms, and oil.
Do we really put these above our concern for lives?
There was, in fact, an uprising by the Iranian people last month which shocked the mullahs and was a major blow to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
In major cities, as well as Tehran, there were continuous clashes between the public – young people armed only with stones – and state security forces.
Just across the border, in Iraq, there is a small township of 3,400 Iranians bravely opposing the inhumanity and injustice of the present regime in Iran Britain has handed over ‘Camp Ashraf’ to the ‘mercies’ of the Iraqi authorities who, hand in glove with Iran, subject them to attacks and have them under siege, deprived of food and medical supplies.
