A BMW worker said scooping this week’s Oxford Mail Face in the Crowd prize is a nice consolation after the U’s home defeat on Saturday.
Brian Bockett, 45, from Blackbird Leys, Oxford, was snapped as he stood with son Harry, 13, at the Kassam Stadium as Oxford United went down 2-0 to Hereford.
Mr Bockett, found out about his £75 prize after colleagues at the car plant in Cowley spotted him in yesterday’s Oxford Mail.
He said: “I’m really chuffed with the money.
“I have been a United fan since the late 1970s and try to go to the Kassam as much as possible.
“It was a strange game and we conceded two soft goals. But we are in a good position and could still make the play-offs, so we need to be positive.
“I am not going to spend the money on anything in particular, but I am sure I’ll enjoy it.”
