Police are appealing for information after a number of cars were broken into in Witney.

The first incident happened between February 9 and February 16, where thieves broke into a Vauxhall Astra in Northfield Row and stole a Sat Nav.

A SEAT Leon was also broken into in the same road overnight between February 9 and February 10 and a Sat Nav, an iPod and a laptop computer were stolen.

Then, overnight between February 10 and February 11 in Northfield Square, a BMW convertible has had its roof slashed open causing thousands of pounds of damage. Nothing was stolen from the vehicle.

The same night, a Toyota Corolla was broken into in the same road and cash and sunglasses were stolen from inside the vehicle.

The last incident happened on February 12, when a silver Mazda RX8 was stolen from outside a house in Cherry Tree Way.

Det Con Adrian Brooksbank said: “These offences are all thought to have occurred overnight and may be linked due to the location and time they occurred.

“I would urge anyone who has seen or heard anything suspicious, or seen any suspicious people or vehicles in the Madley Park area of Witney over this period, to contact me as soon as possible.

“I would also remind people to ensure any valuables are removed from your vehicle whenever you leave it unattended and that your car is locked and secure.

“Never leave anything out on display as it is a temptation for thieves, who won’t hesitate to break into your car for your possessions.”

Anyone with information should contact Det Con Brooksbank via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 0845 8 505 505. Alternatively, you can contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
