DOZENS of demonstrators gathered at Carfax in Oxford tonight to call on the British Government to intervene in Libya to prevent major loss of life amid the uprising against Colonel Gaddafi’s regime.
Oxford Islamic Information Centre chairman Dr Hojjat Ramzy said: “If we do not act, more people are going to get killed and we will be morally responsible for that.
“People in the community are very upset, particularly those who have family in Libya. They know it is going to be war and there are going to be many people killed.”
Hundreds of Britons were evacuated from Libya yesterday, leaving behind them a country descending into chaos and violence.
