Thieves stole more than £1,000 of fishing equipment from a garden centre in Chinnor.
Between 5.30pm on Sunday and 8.15am on Monday, thieves broke into the Chinnor Garden Centre in Thame Road by smashing the roof windows and climbing in. Once inside, they stole three fishing rods that were on display, each valued at approximately £350.
PC Jeremy Oldroyd said: “This offence is particularly unusual as the offenders caused a lot of damage to gain entry to the location in order to steal three fishing rods.
“It is possible the offenders were aware these expensive professional rods were not in a secure cabinet as nothing else in the garden centre was stolen.
"As these rods are identifiable by the expensive ‘Infinity DF’ brand, it is possible that the offenders may brag about stealing them.”
If you have any information regarding these incidents or are offered one of these rods for sale, please contact Thames Valley Police on 0845 8 505 505. If you don’t want to speak to police or give your name, please call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
