I READ with great interest your report (Oxford Mail, February 14) on the recently published crime maps in Oxford. It must have taken quite some time to study the map in the level of detail that you claim in your article.
I would like to point out to you, however, that there seem to be a number of roads on the map that have no reported crime on them, and these include roads with well over 12 households, meaning that the statistics are not spread out over a wider area.
A couple of examples from my neighbourhood include Temple Road (where I live), and Crescent Road; both streets that have well over 100 households on them each.
My list could go on for roads that have no reported crimes.
While I appreciate that studying every road in Oxford on the map is a large task and that you seem to have gone to a lot of trouble to carry out your analysis, I would like to say that making such a sweeping statement that every street in Oxford has had a crime committed on it is highly inaccurate and I think that this should be pointed out in a future issue.
