Isn’t it odd that the very people who support the cuts, complain about their impact (yesterday’s Oxford Mail)?
The only reason Oxford City Council is forced to put up some charges and reduce some services is because the Government is cutting too fast and too deep.
A Labour government would also have had to reduce spending, but we would not have put the economy at risk.
The Conservatives, backed by the Lib Dems, are using the deficit as an excuse to grab for the rich and hit out at the poor.
The NHS, schools, people’s homes and jobs, care for the elderly, sick and unemployed, are all under attack by David Cameron and Nick Clegg.
These crocodile tears, by members of anti-Labour political parties, impress nobody. Their Big Society is a big con and a cover for closing youth clubs, libraries, recycling centres and much else besides.
The sooner we get rid of this coalition Government the better for all of us.
