Police are linking two jewellery raids on homes in Littleworth, near Faringdon, and Wootton, near Abingdon, on Friday.

The first occurred in Littleworth, sometime between midday and 2.25pm on Friday.

Thieves smashed the rear window of a property at Ladman Villas and stole several hundred pounds worth of jewellery. Eyewitnesses report seeing a red vehicle acting suspiciously in the area at the time.

The second burglary took place between 8.20am and 5.20pm on the same day, at a house in Wootton, near Abingdon. Thieves broke into the property by forcing a side window and again stole several hundred pounds worth of jewellery.

PC Paul Reece, of the Abingdon Priority Crime Team, said: “We believe the two burglaries are linked and are appealing for witnesses.

"Thieves have made off with a combined haul of several hundred pounds worth of jewellery and we want to speak to anyone who may have information that could help our investigations.

“I particularly want to speak to anyone who saw the suspicious red vehicle in Littleworth on Friday.

"The smashing of the window to break into the property must have made a lot of noise, so please contact us if you have any information.”
