A woman was attacked as she walked along an alleyway in Didcot.
The 21-year-old woman was walking along an alley that connects Craven Way and Lockinge Close when the robbery occurred.
The woman was attacked from behind by a man and pushed against a wall, before having her face scratched with a sharp implement.
The man rummaged through the victim’s bag, but did not take anything, then left the scene.
The attack happened at 1.15am on Thursday, but details were only released today.
The attacker is described as white, with a slim build and was wearing grey-coloured hooded top and dark trousers.
Det Con Dave Edwards said: “This was a nasty incident that has left the victim shocked.
“I would urge anyone with information about this incident to come forward and speak to us as soon as possible so that we can catch the person responsible for this crime.”
