WITH reference to Stuart Cooper’s letter about unfriendly bus drivers (Oxford Mail, February 15): how true.
A couple of weeks ago I boarded a bus for what was a short journey.
The driver bad-mouthed me, saying that I was only going ‘up the hill’ and that I was costing him council tax (which I also pay).
Such unwarranted arrogance and discourtesy deserved the rough edge of my tongue, which I will deliver if I encounter him again.
Bad weather and a tight schedule sometimes necessitates short journeys. Possibly he will realise this some day.
