Arsonists attacked a children’s play area in Banbury.
Firefighters were called to the play area in St Louis Meadow, after a member of public reported a fire inside the play area.
The incident was reported later to police as an initial investigation by the fire service found the incident to be a suspected arson.
The incident happened at about 10.15pm on Wednesday, but details were only released today. PC Samantha Devlin, from the neighbourhood team, said: “Thankfully none of the play equipment in the play area was damaged, but logs used as fencing were.
“This type of behaviour is anti-social and completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated by Thames Valley Police.
“I am keen to speak to anyone who knows anything about this incident, or who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area at the time the incident occurred.”
