DANCE will return to the streets of Oxford in a blaze of colour and music as Dancin’ Oxford celebrates its fifth birthday.

The annual dance festival will kick off on Saturday, February 19, and feature hundreds of dancers in performances, workshops and taster sessions.

City arts officer Claire Thompson said: “There are really exciting things happening this year, including performances from national dance companies and more workshops than ever before.”

Highlights will also include French aerial dance company Retouramont, who will perform on the walls of Oxford Castle.

Ainsley Ricketts dances with street dance group Messy Jam and will be performing in some of the events.

The Wheatley Park School pupil said: “I’ve only been dancing for four months, but I’m enjoying it.

“I think anyone can enjoy Dancin’ Oxford, because music inspires everyone and you don’t have to be a brilliant dancer to enjoy it.”
