YOUNG singers from Oxford High School’s junior school have scored a hat-trick at the Oxford Music Festival.
The girls won the competition class for under-11 choirs for the third year running.
They sang Autumn by Mark Russell and then the lively Elijah Rock to clinch victory last weekend.
The judges praised the 43 Year Five and Six pupils for their tone and sense of pulse and rhythm in the contest, in which they competed against choirs from four other schools.
Louise Taylor, the director of music at the school in Belbroughton Road, North Oxford, said: “The girls should be really proud of themselves. They make a lovely sound and they sing with real enthusiasm.
“They’re a pleasure to work with. We’re lucky to have so much singing in the school."
