HOSPICE supporters have come up with a ‘lather’ unusual way to raise cash.
Banbury’s Cleenol Group donated 1,000 bottles of washing up liquid bearing the name of Katharine House Hospice to raise cash for the charity.
The Adderbury hospice, near Banbury, celebrates its 20th birthday this year.
Its charity shops in Banbury, Bicester, Brackley, Chipping Norton, and Shipston on Stour, are selling the bottles for £1 each.
Bicester assistant manager Linda Alder said: “It’s been well received, people have been very willing to buy a bottle. I bought one and it’s very good.”
Sarah Brennan, the hospice’s community fundraiser, said: “We are very grateful to Cleenol Group Ltd. With running costs exceeding £2.4m a year, we rely heavily on support from our friends in the community.”
The firm supported the charity by selling washing up liquid in its early days.
The hospice provides inpatient, day hospice, community care at home, home night nursing and bereavement support for people with life-threatening illnesses.
