Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Abingdon town centre today.
At about 2.30pm, a man attacked the victim, who is in his teens, outside the library in The Charter.
The victim fell to the floor where he was repeatedly kicked in the head. A crowd began to gather and the offender then ran off.
PC Neil Wathes said: “This was an unprovoked attack on an innocent member of the public who has sustained a broken arm as a result of the incident.
“Lots of people would have witnessed the assault and a person in the crown tripped the offender as he attempted to get away.
“Were you this person? Did you see the incident take place? If you did, then please get in touch.”
Anyone with information that could assist police enquiries is urged to contact PC Wathes via the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505. If you don’t want to speak to police and don’t want to leave your name contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
