A DOORMAN has gone on trial accused of raping a customer at an Oxford nightclub.

Yasser Al Joumaa was working at Plush Lounge in Park End Street when he is alleged to have forced an 18-year-old woman to give him oral sex in a toilet cubicle.

The 37-year-old, also known as Dino, of Riverside Road, West Oxford, denies rape and sexual assault.

On day three of the trial at Oxford Crown Court yesterday, smoking-area steward Tanya Speke said the defendant spoke to her that night.

She said: “He said to me a girl had asked him if he wanted a (sex act) and he told her to p*** off and I said ‘did you get one?’ and he said ‘no’ but he had kissed her.

“He was asking something about DNA and can you get it if you don’t (ejaculate) and what counts as rape, which I found odd.”

Fellow security staff Marta Nolviicki and Anthony Speke also told jurors Al Joumaa had asked about DNA testing after the alleged incident.

The jury heard the incident was said to have occurred in the unisex toilets of the “primarily gay” club on March 28 last year.

Mr Speke, the head doorman who had recruited Al Joumaa, said: “I asked him had you touched her in any way in the club and he said no, he had just kissed her.”

Owner Mungo Ritchie said only one person was allowed in a cubicle at one time and that security staff would patrol the toilets every 15 or 20 minutes.

He said: “When you are in my employment you are working, you are not there for any social reason.”

He told the court: “You’re being paid to do a job and I would not expect anything of that nature to occur.”

The trial continues.
