Monday 24 January I came across a starving injured black cat while out running. After wondering what to do I eventually decided to take the cat home and place in my garden shed. I feed the cat and put a comfy bed for it to sleep. I contacted the local vets and placed an advert on the Faringdon website incase anyone had been missing this cat, obviously due to the state of it, it had been living rough for a while.

After a couple of days feeding etc I took the cat to the vets to check if it had been micro chipped and found out that it hadnt but needed alot of dental work and had a back injury.

I contacted the RSPCA in Swindon to find if there was any funding to help pay for some of this treatment. Considering we are a nation of animal lovers! I was told that taking the cat from the car park made it my responsilibity and that they would send me a collar stating 'Recently Dealt with by the RSPCA, Owner contact Tel: 01793 640136' (the collar being paper) and take the cat back to the Car Park and leave it. I am totally disgusted.
