Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Upton in which a man had his car stolen.

At around 7.30pm on Sunday, a 34-year-old man was driving his blue Hyundai Coupe on the Chilton Road. Driving through West Hagbourne and turning left at the Horse and Harry Pub, he noticed a car following closely behind him, flashing its lights at him.

This car drove up behind the Hyundai and lightly knocked into his bumper. Both drivers stopped their cars, and two men got out of the following car.

One of the men approached the Hyundai, banged on the windscreen and told the 34-year-old man to get out of his car. The second man told him to stand by the fence, as the two men got into the Hyundai and drove it away.

A third person drove their own car away, with both vehicles heading towards the A4185.

Det Con Jon Shaw, from Abingdon CID, said: “We do not have an accurate description of the thieves’ vehicle as it was very dark at the time.

“The men were said to be wearing scarves and had hooded tops covering their faces. It is thought they spoke with eastern European accents, and both cars were driven off in the direction of the A4185.

“I’m appealing for any witnesses to this robbery to come forward. Did you see this incident at 7.30pm on Sunday?
