A 31-YEAR-OLD man was in hospital with serious head injuries last night following a fight outside a Woodstock pub.
Police were called to the Crown Inn, in High Street, at 9.42pm on Sunday following reports of an argument during which the victim was punched in the head.
He was taken to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital where he was in a stable condition, but in need of an operation yesterday.
A 20-year-old man was arrested for causing grievous bodily harm and was still being questioned last night.
Police spokesman Chris Kearney said scenes-of-crime officers cordoned off the front of the pub and looked for clues.
Mr Kearney said: “The pub is a popular place for local residents so there would have been a number of people who would have seen the physical altercation. We would appeal for them to come forward.”
Anyone with information should call police on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
