A TRAMPOLINE club is jumping for joy after scooping a national award.
Higher Energy Trampoline Club, based at Chipping Norton Leisure Centre, has been awarded The Gym Mark and Club Mark by the British Gymnastics Association.
About 200 children go to the club, which has 34 coaches, and branches in Marston, Eynsham, and Berinsfield.
Coach Fiona Middleton, 32, pictured jumping, said: “It is an award that is handed to clubs that are safe and effective. It is a seal of approval.
“It also means we might be able to access funding to develop the club.”
She said trampolining was becoming more and popular.
She added: “Trampolining is now an Olympic sport. It is a lot of fun and very good for your cardio.”
It took the 18-month-old club six months to get the accreditation.
Miss Middleton said: “We had to work very hard. We had to send all of our coaches on various different courses.”
