A 32-YEAR-OLD man suffered serious head injuries in an attack in Cowley Road, Oxford, yesterday.
Police said officers were called at 2.50am to reports of an assault near The Regal nightclub.
The victim was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital and was last night said to be in in a stable condition.
A 31-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incidentand was still in custody at the time of going to press.
A police cordon was still visible yesterday morning.
Nuala Young, Oxford City Council member for St Clement’s, said: “We will look into this and take it very seriously because we like to think the area is safe. Most of our residents are very civilised.”
