CHILDREN in hospital got a sweet surprise thanks to an Oxford cake-maker.
Award-winning Sana Malik cooked up a colourful three-tier cake for youngsters at Oxford Children’s Hospital.
Ms Malik, who runs her own business Sana’s Wedding Cakes from her home in Headington, Oxford, delivered her creation on Thursday.
She made a “flamboyant and funky” American-style cake complete with different types of fruit and various shades of rice paper.
Ms Malik, of Lye Valley, said: “I just wanted to try to bring a smile to sick children.
“We all have relatives who have been in hospital and a nephew of mine has Down’s Syndrome so I know how important it is to try to keep their spirits up.”
Ms Malik, a member of The British Sugar Craft Guild, added: “All children like cake, so it just seemed like a good way to help a vital local cause.”
