HUMPTY Dumpty and all the King’s Men were alive and well at Stonesfield carnival in 1986.
Members of the village playgroup got dressed up as the favourite nursery rhyme characters and toured the streets on a float.
The arrival of the parade, which included old fire and steam engines, triggered the start of a series of events on the village playing field.
The star attraction at that year’s carnival was the world Kung Fu champion Clive Parkinson, who gave a demonstration of self-defence to help raise money for village groups.
