Police today appealed for information following two burglaries at social clubs.
The first occurred overnight on Thursday at Fawley Recreation Club, Wantage, where offenders forced a door and, once inside the building, caused extensive damage to the jukebox and fruit machine.
At 3.16am on Friday, thieves got into Woodlands St Mary Sports and Social Club in Hungerford. They caused damage to and stole money from the fruit machine, and stole alcohol and soft drinks.
Neighbourhood Specialist Officer, PC Claire Drewitt said: “These burglaries have come as a real shock to the local community who work hard to keep these social clubs up and running.
“I am keen to speak to anyone with information that could help us with our enquiries.”
Anyone with any information should contact PC Drewitt via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505. If you do not wish to speak to police you can contact Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
