WHEN members of the Women’s Royal Voluntary Service in Oxfordshire appealed for donations of men’s shoes and clothes in 1986, the organisation was overwhelmed.
Items of all shapes and sizes poured in, in such huge numbers that staff had to work overtime to sort them ready for sale.
