A former TV newsreader has been named BBC Oxford’s new breakfast presenter following a New Year schedule shake-up.
Phil Gayle, known for his stint on The Big Breakfast in the late ’90s, replaces Malcolm Boyden, who will now present the mid-morning show, from Monday.
Leaving the slot is Louisa Hannan, who will join the breakfast team as a roving reporter out and about in Oxfordshire.
Station editor Marianne Bell said: “We want to deliver more focus on local news and stories which reflect life for us living here in Oxfordshire.”
