People convicted of offences at Oxford Magistrates' Court recently:

Julian Gunnett, 35, of Rectory Road, Oxford, admitted possession of cannabis (Class B) in Oxford on December 7. Given a six-month conditional discharge and told to pay £45 costs.

Mohamed Dehchar, 28, of Fairlie Road, Oxford, admitted shoplifting food valued at £16.82 from Sainsbury’s in Oxford on December 9. Given a six-month conditional discharge and told to pay £20 costs and £16.82 compensation.

Benjamin Joy, 26, of Green Ridges, Oxford, admitted shoplifting a jar of jelly beans valued at £25 from Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe in Oxford on August 9. Given a six-month conditional discharge and told to pay £50 compensation and £30 costs.

Christopher Lee, 32, of Luther Street, Oxford, admitted shoplifting perfume and an electric razor valued at £104.95 from Superdrug in Oxford on December 28 and commission of a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge. Jailed for 14 days because “defendant was only released from prison on December 16 and this is the third offence committed since his release”.

Lofti Bouali, 31, of Marston Road, Marston, admitted criminal damage worth £508 to a gaming machine belonging to Ladbrokes in Oxford on January 18, 2010. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £253 compensation.

Niyati Chawalla-Waller, 42, of New Cross Road, Oxford, admitted drink driving in Quarry High Street, Oxford, on December 11. Namely having 65 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35mg. Fined £450, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for 16 months.

James Ewins, 27, of Stanway Road, Oxford, admitted using threatening words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Oxford on December 12. Fined £120, £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

Meliesha Jones, 27, of Pegasus Road, Oxford, admitted drink driving in Oxpens Road, Oxford, on December 12. Namely having 80 micrograms in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35mg. Fined £240, £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for 18 months.

Lee Worman, 20, of Plover Drive, Oxford, admitted burglary of Koi Chinese Restaurant in Oxford of alcoholic drinks valued at £124 on December 11. Given a six-week curfew and told to pay £192 compensation and £40 costs.

Darren Brady, 26, of Paradise Street, Oxford, admitted failing to comply with the requirements of a community order by failing to submit to drug treatment on November 11 and failing to report for supervision on December 8 and 9. Given an extra month’s drug rehabilitation.

Mark Hillier, 26, of Littlebrook Meadow, Shipton-under-Wychwood, admitted criminal damage of £200 to a door at Lucy Faithful House in Oxford and failure to surrender to court bail on December 17. Given a 12-month conditional discharge, fined £50, £15 victims’ surcharge and £50 compensation.

Jacqueline Phillips, 45, of Verbena Way, Oxford, admitted three counts of sending a false message by public electronic communications network to cause annoyance, inconvenience or anxiety between May and July; wasting police time on June 5 and persistently making use of a public communications network to cause annoyance, inconvenience or anxiety on June 5. Given a two-year conditional discharge and told to pay £150 costs.

Sameh Gerges, 61, of South Hill Park, London, admitted acquiring, using or possessing criminal property in Henley-on-Thames, namely health and beauty products, on September 4. Given 140 hours’ unpaid work and told to pay £40 costs.

Marie Bunyan, 54, of Clear Water Place, Oxford, admitted shoplifting chocolate valued at £40 from Hotel Chocolat in Oxford on November 22. Fined £70, £15 victims’ surcharge, £40 costs and £40 compensation.

Graham Collier, 48, of no fixed address, admitted being drunk and disorderly in public, namely Magdalen Road, Oxford, on December 14. Fined £40 and a £15 victims’ surcharge.

Anthony Rogers, 24, of Balfour Road, Oxford, admitted shoplifting food valued at £5.68 from Tesco in Cowley Road, Oxford, on December 13. Fined £60, £5.68 compensation, £30 costs and a £15 victims’ surcharge.

Ian Avery, 57, of Meriden Court, Wallingford, admitted harassment without violence in Wallingford between December 3 and 5. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £85 costs. Also given a restraining order.

Michael Carty, 46, of Wood Street, Wallingford, admitted shoplifting four cans of Kronenbourg, eight cans of Stella Artois and a bottle of Coca-Cola from Waitrose in Wallingford on December 4. Fined £60, £15.18 compensation, £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

Aaron Hennessy, 24, of Beeching Way, Wallingford, admitted theft of copper cabling to a value unknown belonging to BT in Wallingford on December 14. Fined £60, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

Michelle Purdy, 20, of Pebble Drive, Didcot, admitted drink-driving in Colwell Drive, Abingdon, on December 12. Namely having 57 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35mg. Fined £60, £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for a year.
