River levels in the River Thame and Chalgrove Brook remained high today but are falling.

The Environment Agency said a flood alert remained in place on the River Thame from Marsworth to Shillingford including, Long Marston, Rowsham, Cuddington, Thame, Shabbington, Ickford, Waterperry, Wheatley, Drayton St Leonard and Dorchester, and also the Chalgrove Brook at Chalgrove and Stadhampton.

A spokesman said levels on the River Thame were slowly falling.

He said: "River levels are expected to remain high and out in the floodplain in the Thame Bridge area, whilst continuing to fall.

"The weather forecast for Saturday says it will be mainly dry with patchy light rain in the afternoon."
