A TEENAGER has been convicted of murdering father-of-one Blayne Ridgway in the centre of Oxford.

Eze Eke, 16, stabbed his 22-year-old victim outside Que Pasa in Queen Street on May 8 and this afternoon was jailed for at least 15 years.

The killer’s identity can now be released after the Oxford Mail successfully applied to lift reporting restrictions at Oxford Crown Court.

The teenager, of Ridgefield Road, East Oxford, had been hanging around the bar’s outdoor smoking area while dancehall artist Gappy Ranks played to a packed crowd inside.

The two-week trial at Oxford Crown Court heard Eke attacked Mr Ridgway at about 3am, possibly in an argument over a neck chain, and fled down Castle Street before handing himself in at St Aldate’s Police Station two hours later.

Jurors took almost eight hours to unanimously convict him of murder.

Judge Anthony King ordered him to serve a minimum 15 years in jail.
