Many cyclists in Oxford appear to be seeking death by cycling at great speed in the dark while wearing grey or black clothes and without bells or lights.

Not only is such behaviour stupid but it is also very selfish.

The motorists who will inevitably hit them will have their death or injury on their conscience for the rest of their lives.

The only winners will, as so often, be the lawyers who have to assess blame and award damages.

Although police appear to as common as hen’s teeth these days, could I ask that they mount an urgent campaign to warn or prosecute errant cyclists about their folly.
