Oxfordshire woke up to a light covering of snow this morning and more of the white stuff is predicted throughout the day.

Temperatures across the county will struggle to get above freezing before falling to a low of minus 8C in rural areas tonight.

No major problems have been reported on County roads and no schools have been closed.

Met Office spokesman Barry Gromett said Oxfordshire could see up to 3cm of snow fall today, with more on higher ground such as the Cotswolds.

He added: "There is more snow to come throughout the course of daylight today. In the main it is going to be pretty light.

"These snow showers die out during the course of the evening and tomorrow we will see less in the way of snow for Oxfordshire."
