LAST year you published a picture of me standing outside Bicester Post Office with a parcel that I had to wait some time for.

I am in Spain for a short while helping out a friend.

The Correos (Spanish post office) left a card saying there was a package to collect.

I went into the local post office to collect it.

I was number 36 in the queue. The number shown on the display as currently being dealt with was 10.

Number 12, while keeping one eye on the display in case he lost his chance, told me he had been there waiting for nearly 75 minutes.

So gentle folk of Bicester, forget that old moaner in last year’s Oxford Mail.

The service there is good by comparison with elsewhere, but please don’t tell those at the top, or they will put prices up even more.

Incidentally, thanks to those who have made contact saying that they thought I had broken my writing hand or upset the editor. There is a reason for my lack of letters helping Thames Valley Police and others in the presentation of their services.
