AN OXFORD schoolgirl is on the verge of becoming a top model just two years after she was spotted on a visit to a fashion show.

Sophie Rose, then 16, was at the Clothes Show Live with friends when an agency scout picked her out from the crowd.

Now Miss Rose, from Godstow Road, Wolvercote, is on the books of Select Models, which has launched the careers of Daisy Lowe, Sienna Miller and Agyness Deyn, and has appeared in several magazines.

But despite having modelling assignments lined up across Britain, she insists her main priority is finishing her studies at the Cherwell School in Marston Ferry Road.

Miss Rose said: “It has all been a bit of a whirlwind.

“I was just at the show with a group of friends because we all love fashion and we wanted to see what was on display.

“While we were there somebody came up to me and asked me whether I would have some photos taken.

“I said yes and that is how it all started.”

So far Miss Rose has taken part in fashion shoots across Britain and now has work lined up overseas.

Her work includes various fashion shoots for magazines including Sugar, Shout, and Bliss.

She says her favourite job was for Plac Jeans in Soho, central London.

Miss Rose said: “It was incredibly exciting because I had never been there before.

“I was with this male model and we had to pretend we were a couple and we basically just headed all over the area having a brilliant time.”

Miss Rose is currently applying to universities to study fashion. She said: “Right now it’s important I get my grades.

“The agency are very understanding and allow me all the time I need for school and studying.

“I hope I will make it as a model, and that me being spotted shows other people my age that it could also happen to them too.

Select Models spokesman Billy Walters said the agency has high hopes for Miss Rose.

He added: “Sophie is great to work with. Obviously schooling is her priority but she is fun, full of personality and enthusiastic.

“She is one of our beautiful new faces at Select. We feel the future is exciting for this Oxford schoolgirl.”
