HELP is at hand for parents hunting for ways to keep their children entertained during half term.

Museums, leisure centres and other attractions across Oxfordshire are putting on Halloween and holiday events to provide family fun throughout the week.

Here is a selection of the activities on offer for children of all ages *Blackbird Leys Leisure Centre is running a Multi Activity Camp for seven- to 13-year-olds from Monday to Friday, including basketball, badminton and football. Sessions are £2.50 each or £4 per day.

*Ferry Leisure Centre is offering badminton and squash coaching on Tuesday to Friday, and an activity afternoon on Monday, priced £5. Blackbird Leys, Ferry and Temple Cowley leisure centres are also running Aspires Academy fitness gym sessions for 12- to 15-year-olds each day.

*In addition to normal skating sessions, Oxford Ice Rink is holding a Halloween family disco on Saturday, October 30, from 2pm to 4pm.

*Jambinos indoor adventure centre at the Ozone Leisure Park, Grenoble Road, will be running Halloween activities for under-10s all week, including puppet shows, treasure hunts and pumpkin carving. Entrance is from £1.95 to £4.95 per child. For more details call 01865 712846.

*The Museum of Oxford in St Aldate’s is running £3 workshops for five- to 12-year-olds. On Tuesday, children will be shown how design their own T-shirts, on Wednesday they will be making witch and wizard costumes, and on Thursday they can create halloween lanterns. Sessions run from 11am to 12.30pm and 2.30pm to 3.30pm.

*Science Oxford in London Place is running spooky craft activities for children aged over five on Wednesday and Thursday, from 11am to 5pm. Half-term activities are free after the £3 Discovery Zone entrance fee.

*Waterperry Gardens in Wheatley is running a Great Pumpkin Hunt until the end of the month, challenging children to find eight pumpkins hidden around the grounds. Children can get into the gardens free, but must be accompanied by an adult paying the £5.90 entrance charge.

*Blenheim Palace in Woodstock has a spooky maze to explore, while children can also make pumpkin lanterns at the Garden Café, or create scary pottery from 11am to 4pm. Families can also take a spooky tour around the palace. Admission to the palace, park and garden is £18 for adults and £10 for children, with family rates available. Extra charges for some activities apply.

*Millets Farm Centre, Frilford, is running its own spooky maize maze, open all week from 11am to 4pm, and 6pm to 10pm. Pumpkin carving and other Halloween activities are also being run all week. Late night openings are priced between £6.25 and £7.50. See milletsfarmcentre.com

*Harcourt Arboretum at Nuneham Courtenay is letting children have a go at making their own autumn lanterns from 1pm to 4pm on Monday. The drop-in sessions are free with the standard £3.50 fee.

*Didcot Railway Centre has steam trains running all week, with entrance charges between £6.50 to £8 for adults, and £5.50 to £7 for children. See didcotrailwaycentre.org.uk

*Cotswold Wildlife Park will be running events every day during half term, including ghost train rides, face painting, and Halloween feeds of many of the animals in the park. See cotswoldwildlifepark.co.uk

*Northmoor Trust, Little Wittenham, is running a family bushcraft day on Wednesday from 10am to 3pm. Children and adults will learn how to make fire, prepare and cook fire, and build shelters in the wild at Hill Farm.
