A 31-YEAR-OLD man who posed online as a teenage girl has been sentenced for child porn offences.

Stuart Grainge was caught when a text he sent asking for a picture of a young girl was found on the phone of a man under investigation in Cheshire.

Police raided his house in Keble Road, Bicester, and found 13 videos on three devices.

Cathy Olliver, prosecuting at Oxford Crown Court yesterday, said eight of the videos were rated at level four, the second most severe category. The remaining five were at level two.

She said Grainge, who lived at home with his parents, admitted contacting the man in Cheshire after meeting him on an Internet chat room by “posing as a 17-year-old girl called Latoya”.

Clare Fraser, defending, said her client was “extremely embarrassed and ashamed by his behaviour” and said his offending was sporadic.

Grainge earlier admitted six charges of making indecent images of children, one charge of distributing indecent images and one of inciting someone to distribute indecent images.

He was told to attend supervision and a sex offender programme for three years and sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for five years. He was also banned from working with children, going online without police permission and contacting anyone under 17.
