A WITNEY scooter club raised nearly £800 for forces charity Help for Heroes with an auction.

Witney Outriders sold donated items such as a signed copy of motoring writer Jeremy Clarkson’s autobiography and a tour around British gangster Dave Courtney’s castle.

As well as the auction, there was also a raffle, with items donated from local businesses, and live music from band WAM.

About 200 people attended the event, which was held at The Windrush Inn, in Burford Road.

Organiser Neil Grant said: “It was an absolutely amazing night and I was overwhelmed by how many people turned up.”

He said the event was such a success that they hoped to organise another one in the future.
