I WRITE regarding your article regarding the first council houses built for 20 years in Rose Hill and Peter Wilkinson’s comment (Oxford Mail, October 8).
I don’t know why Rose Hill tenants are calling them an eyesore.
I would think many of the old people would love to go into the bungalows, with all their modern conveniences.
The houses on the other part of the estate – Howard and Minox houses, one of which he lives in now – have become the eyesore compared to the modern buildings.
Everything that seems to be done for Rose Hill has come up for criticism from Mr Wilkinson since he became chair of the residents’ association – and appears to be speaking on behalf of all Rose Hill residents.
It is about time he praises some of the things that are trying to be done on the estate.
