THERESA May, the Home Secretary, has been challenged to come to Oxford to see the positives of Asbos and it would seem there are indications one is working well again.
Leslie Belcher is well known in East Oxford for his obnoxious, drink-fuelled behaviour. But residents are reporting improvements since the implementation of an interim antisocial behaviour order (followed yesterday by a full Asbo) and a detox programme. It shows, used correctly, Asbos do have a future.
