Customer demand has led an Oxford takeaway owner to expand his business empire and open a fully-fledged restaurant. Caf Spice is in the same building in The Parade, Rose Hill, but now offers up to 40 diners the chance to sit down to enjoy their meal.
Owner Abdul Haque has been delighted with the response and held a special opening event attended by Oxford East MP Andrew Smith and Lord Mayor of Oxford, Jim Campbell.
Mr Haque said: "There was nothing like it in The Parade and customers have been asking me to open a restaurant, so I decided to go ahead and do it.
"The response so far has been great and, once more people get to know about it, I am sure it will be a good business."
Mr Haque, 32, opened the original Caf Spice in 1998 after working in several local Oxford restaurants.
The business, which now employs six full-time staff, will continue to offer a takeaway and delivery service specialising in Indian and Bangladeshi food.
