I was delighted to see (Oxford Mail, July 15) that Martin Everton has been let off the hook and commonsense has prevailed over his care in the gardens of his neighbours.
But it got me thinking how many more people are bullied by the council when they think they are doing something to help.
Volunteers today are given such rigorous scrutiny that it often puts people off from helping others less fortunate than themselves.
I do realise that everyone has to be very careful these days, but it is often the way it's done that causes upset. Perhaps the council will look at how they deal with separate issues in future.
Of course if any of your readers feel hard done by, they only have to write to you.
The Oxford Mail and its army of followers will soon put it right, or at least have a jolly good try!
Good luck, enjoy the lovely sunshine.
