Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Oxford in the early hours of yesterday.
Shortly before 3am, a 20-year-old man got into a verbal altercation with a man outside the Lush store in Cornmarket Street.
A fight broke out shortly after and the 20-year-old man sustained serious injuries to his head. He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, where he remains in a critical condition.
PC Darren Little said: “We have reviewed the CCTV and there were a lot of people in Cornmarket Street at the time of the incident who we would like to speak to.
“If you were in Cornmarket Street and saw an altercation taking place or if you have any information about this incident, then you need to get in touch with me as soon as possible.”
A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm shortly after the incident and has been bailed to return to St Aldates police station on October 20.
