CRICKETERS leapfrogged George, Littlemore and White House to top the Greene King Oxford & District League Premier Section for the first time this season after a 3-0 victory at Seacourt.

Den Sellar got better as the night went on with 15 dolls (4-5-6) in the leg scores of 28-21, 30-25, 30-26.

George pulled off a 2-1 win at White House, taking the first two legs 30-26 and 28-26.

Dave Sawyer threw well for George with 14 dolls (6-4-4), which was matched by White House's Dick Walsh (5-5-4).

Cowley Workers produced a shock by defeating Section 1 leaders Garsington Sports on their home patch.

They had the game sewn up in the opening two legs, taking them 25-24, 27-23. Garsington rallied in the final leg, winning it 30-21.

Tom Hartnett was top dog for Workers with a dozen dolls, while Roger Goodall did likewise for the hosts.

Plough took full advantage of Garsington's slip to move to top spot with a 3-0 win at Gladiators.

The visitors were never really troubled as they took the legs 29-22, 29-19, 31-27.

Adi Shepherd, Mick Goulding and Mick Murphy were all on top form as they clanged off 14 dolls.

Section 2 leaders Littlemore British Legion had a scare as bottom placed Turners Arms took the first leg 24-18.

They then set 20 and Legion had to rely on anchor man Gary Coulthard to whip off the two dolls to snatch the second leg.

Legion's 25 in the final leg was more than enough as Turners Arms could only respond with 16.

Kidlington Sports moved to joint-second with Star who they defeated 2-1.

They took the first two legs 25-20, 21-19, before Star claimed the third 28-22.

Star's Keith Powell and Kidlington's John Brown both clanged off an impressive 14 dolls (5-5-4).

Section 3 leaders Crown almost came unstuck at rock bottom Ampleforth Arms.

They lost the first leg 16-15, but easily levelled the match 20-12 in the second.

The decider went to a three-stick shoot-out after an 18-18 draw, Crown winning it by the odd doll.

It was unlucky 13 for Quarry Gate's Phil Hounslow as they lost 2-1 at Plough in Section 4.

Hounslow whipped off 4-3-6, but Plough's more consistent throwing saw them through 16-20, 21-17, 24-20.

Plough's Steve Lockey was in fine form with 13 (4-5-4).

In Section 13, Kings Arms Ladies continued their impressive season with another home victory, this time against Cavalier.

They claimed maximum points 11-10, 10-6, 9-6. Lynda Strudwick top scored with six (2-2-2).
