TWO cleaning firms in Abingdon pledged to donate a morning’s earnings to a pensioner whose handbag was stolen.

The 83-year-old’s bag was taken from her mobility walking aid on Thursday, August 26, while she was shopping at M&Co in Abingdon Market Place.

Her bag contained a driving licence, bank cards, £70 cash and medication, as well as door and car keys.

Caroline White, of Pro Clean Ltd, based in Nuffield Way, and Louise White, of LC Housekeeping Services, in Kidlington, will donate £70.

Miss White, 39, said: “We can’t believe the mentality of someone stealing from a disabled lady in her eighties. It’s absolutely disgusting.

“Hopefully this money might help her a little bit, she’s a pensioner and £70 is a lot of money.”

The suspect is described as a white female with mousy hair, aged between 30 and 40, of average build and about 5ft 3ins.
